Season Review
Clubs who at the start of the year were touted as the ones to look out for were indeed that. The season saw Carlton, Brisbane and St Kilda as SX’s biggest movers. Their performances throughout the year not only pleased their fans, but also their investors with very satisfying returns. Looking at the biggest losers for the season, last year’s grand finalist Hawthorn, along with Sydney, North Melbourne and Richmond can all put the 2009 season behind them and start preparing for a more positive 2010. They all look like they will be of great value when trading resumes next year.
Melbourne’s Jack Grimes, Fremantle’s Greg Broughton and North Melbourne’s Liam Anthony were all shining lights for their respective struggling clubs this year. All three made significant gains throughout the season as their performances week in week out helped improve their share price.
Retiring Melbourne player Matthew Whelan along with Geelong’s Tom Lonergan and injury plagued player West Coast’s Brett Jones were this year’s biggest losers. Their share prices all took a major hit as they all fell in excess of 80%.
Season 2010 will be bigger and better than ever, with the ground work already set in place. We, the SX team, will be striving to bring you the very best features to improve your overall experience.
