Fremantle’s Michael Barlow and Melbourne’s Jordie McKenzie were the opening round’s biggest gainers. With only a handful of games between them, both players turned in sensational performances and still offer value to potential traders with their price remaining under $1.50. The biggest losers for the round were seasoned players, Brisbane’s Amon Buchanan and Sydney’s Martin Mattner. Both players’ share price dropped over 35% as a result of their quiet games.
Looking at clubs, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Fremantle’s impressive first up wins reflected their share price with all making gains in excess of 4%. These teams will be looking to capitalise on their early season form and could be seen as potential long term stocks. On the other side of the spectrum, Adelaide and Western Bulldogs’ somewhat shock losses over the weekend resulted in their share prices plummeting well below $80.
